Enough Summer Frolicking!
I unintentionally disconnected from social media for much of the summer. Partly because Camp Underfoot had a demanding participant – my son. However, I also spent the last two weeks of it on holiday with family and friends in the UK and Norway.
Our trip was amazing. And, I went to the Mithraeum that I wrote about in The Wrath of Atticus. Finally!!! I’ll tell you more about it over the next few weeks, starting tomorrow.
Back in the big smoke, we’re figuring out our daily groove with kiddo at a new school. I continue pushing myself to new distances in my running training. On the weekend I hit 8K with fellow fitness goddess Jennifer Powell.
Discovering a white cross and possible burial site wasn’t what we expected when we started out! Don’t worry, we were more than safe. My next big run is a 10K at the end of October, dressed as an Ugly Sister to hubby’s Cinderella.
Here’s What’s Coming Up
Now it’s time to look ahead to the next few months. I have projects (secret! secret!) on my “to be completed” list, including the final installment of Viper’s story. I have a little something extra up my proverbial sleeve for those particular characters.
October 18 – 20, 2019, I’ll be a presenter and vendor at the 2019 Conference on Canadian Content in Speculative Arts and Literature, affectionately called CanConSF. I love this Canadian-centric conference. Besides the wonderful talent represented, the conference raises insightful issues in spec fic literature. The Con is in Ottawa, Canada, at 150 Albert Street in the Sheraton Hotel. This year, CanConSF also hosts the Canadian Aurora Awards.
October 26, 2019, I’m running at two hour workshop at the York Writers Conference, hosted by the Writers’ Community of York Region. There are a limited number of spots available, so grab your ticket quick! My workshop is “Death Done Right.” Description: “I’m a writer Jim, not a doctor.” Why doesn’t anyone perform CPR right in Hollywood? Learn why Flatliners was wrong, and about other typical medical blunders in popular culture in this hands-on workshop.
