My 7-7-7 Writer’s Work in Progress Challenge: The Queen’s Viper

Madhuri Blaylock Tweeted her 7-7-7 writer’s work in progress challenge: share seven lines from the seventh page of your work in progress, starting from the seventh line. She invited me to do the same.

Here’s your first sneak peak at my urban fiction, The Queen’s Viper, due out in the spring 2015

“Between the oncoming Jubilee Barge and Tower Bridge, seven beams of red energy pierced the surface of the water. They cast a red glow across the grey sky and the people below, visible only to the creature.

The gold and brown prow of The Spirit of Chartwell crossed into the circumference of magical ring. Everything within the henge of light slowed down. The predator vaulted from her post and landed soundlessly on the deck in front of the thrones.”

[edit: I forgot to nominate. In Canada I nominate Nina Munteanu, Mark Ellis and Astra Groskaufmanis. For my US contacts I’m picking 3 individuals I don’t know very well, save that I follow them through social media and I like what they share.  Chuck WendigS. Evan Townsend & Margaret Taylor.]
