#AdAstra2017 How Can a Woman in the Corner Have So Much Fun?

Rearrange my working space the day after #AdAstra2017, she said.

No, we won’t have to take apart the IKEA furniture, she said (…erroneously).

I can turn my creative space upside down and get it back together again in a day, she said.

Really, I should have stopped talking! This post is a little late today, between the overhaul of my creative zone and my husband’s visitors from Glasgow. I’m sorry.

AdAstra 2017 was my first year as a vendor in the Dealer’s room. I happily shared my little corner of the mini-mall with Suzanne Church. At least, if there was going to be a mass panic for the exit, I could get out first. Thankfully, the Sheraton renovated since last year. The basement room for vendors was no longer the foreboding dungeon it used to be. As a matter of fact, the lights were almost too bright!

My home for the #AdAstra2017 Con Weekend
Happy to see Brain Lags books at the Con again!

Then The People Came!

Without a doubt, this past weekend was the most fun I’ve had so far selling from a table at a book event! Friday night kicked off with effervescent Tara, with whom I discovered preemie mom bonding. Philip ventured to the GTA from Canada’s East Coast simply because he loves reading and had not been to the event before.

I didn’t get to see much of the Con panels because I had to man my station. Thank you to Augusta for spelling me off! Visitors stopped by (I’m sorry I don’t remember everyone’s names!). We talked about me how much they enjoyed the panels, and about the books and items they bought. Lovely chats!

Chatting with fellow TEGG Sessorium members Suzanne Church and Arlene Marks, and the Archmage Ed Greenwood

Someone made the mistake of letting me out of the Dealer’s room on Saturday night and I went in search of trouble.

Chillin with the good folks at the GenreCon party – including Mike the generic video game character guy
Partly naked Stormtrooper recruits from the Ad Astra Con Suite
Ms. Ashley Hisson wearing my fave mermaid!

I managed to catch a couple of snaps of the costumed wonderfulness at Ad Astra 2017 – will upload those tomorrow!

I participated in the Fractured Fairy Tales with Stephanie Cooper, Alisse Lee Goldenberg, and Nicole Lavigne. The superficial summary is coming up next week! If anyone got a full reading list from that panel, I’d love to share it!

Can’t help it… I’m animated when I’m speaking! Fractured Fairy Tale panel

Thank you to the many volunteers who put together #AdAstra2017! I really appreciate the invitation to participate!

And a super huge thank you to everyone who saw Viper and liked her enough to buy a copy! I really appreciate you taking a chance on me. You won’t be disappointed!

I’m sorry to report that Amazon Kindle didn’t price match across all its markets as the letter I received indicated. If you tried to download it and were unable to, please let me know by social media or by email lesleydonaldson@bell.net. I’m working on a plan to get you a copy and get you caught up on all the dark goodness that is Viper before book 2, The Wrath of Atticus, comes out.

In the meantime, you can still access the first seven chapters of The Queen’s Viper for free at any time by clicking on this link.
